This single-hopped IPA is a result of our exploration with Citra hops, a variety that has become popular for its intense citrus and tropical aromas and flavors. This slightly hazy IPA is bursting with grapefruit, orange, and tropical notes with a touch of white wheat.

Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass best before 11 of 17. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that covers the glass with gobs of lace.

Smell is tangerine, apricot, peach, mango, and grapefruit rind.

Taste follows tangerine, peach, apricot, mango, and a little hit of grapefruit in the very balanced finish.

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, plenty of carbonation, not dry at all, and drinks very easy for 7.3% ABV.

Overall this is a very nice and easy drinking tropical IPA, with some mild bitterness.

12 oz 2018 can into a Samuel Adams glass.
Pours with a hazy golden body and a tall, durable white head. Excellent retention.
Fruity and lightly dank aroma. The flavor largely follows with more citrus, some bready malts, and minimal dankness. Well hidden ABV.
Medium body and carbonation.

I got 3 cans of this in a Sam Adams IPA variety 12-pack for $14.99. I like citrusy IPAs, and I really enjoyed this one. Very easy to drink. If they sold this on it’s own, I’d definitely buy it.

12 ounce can into perfect pint glass, best before 11/2017. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is an excellent wheat IPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Never overly aggressive. I've always felt White IPA meant Belgian Witbier IPA, but I knew this one wouldn't be. Really great Citra hop showcase. Very juicy and lightly dank hop complexity; nice bready wheat malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

From a can, this brew is a hazy orange color with a tall white froth. The aroma is incredibly floral and fruity. Sweet, with ah hop flower scent and just a bit of spice. The taste is balanced, and grapefruit and candy comes out in the taste. Sweet malt and fruit finish. Interesting, but I don't think that I could have more than one....it could get cloying.

I tried this at my son's hockey club party in Evansville, IN. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel and Belgian sugar. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Belgian presence with citra hop adornment. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was decent.

Hazy, peach flesh with a 1/2" dense white head with great retention. Leaves sticky lace.
Bright citrus, mango-y tropical ripe fruits in the nose. Expected more of a bang from the Citra.
Juicy ripe tropical fruit. A little sweetness midway thru. Wheatiness is mild but can be tasted.
Lighter end of medium bodied, smooth, soft, round mouth-feel.
Lingering mild bitterness.
Overall - well made, decent beer.
