Meet our cocktail-inspired beer, Blood & Sand. Aged on orange peel in rye whisky barrels, Blood & Sand has notes of orange and light cherry, with a subtle smoky finish.

Sample from a bottle at Beer meets Wood last weekend.
Slightly hazy lightly murky light brown with a thin off white head. Caramel and sticky maltiness with hints of smoke spice and citrus, mostly orange. This was weird but kind of grew on me.

I like ales and i like whiskey, but I'm not a rye fan. Bourbon barrels might have been a better choice. Either way, the whiskey shines through in the smell. I don't notice the orange peel except for the burnt orange color.
A drinkable beer, especially for the rye whiskey fans.
I purchased this from the brewery last time i was in Boston. Eh, not bad, just not my style.
