From the 12 fl. oz. can with an expiration date of October 2018. Sampled on August 10, 2018.

The color is an attractive, maybe unfiltered, orange-amber with streaming carbonation leading up to a soft, white head. I love how Sam Adams beers look.

The aroma has a twist of citrus, some orange, and some melon all mingling with white bread characters.

Medium, smooth mouthfeel.

A slightly sweet start to the taste but the juicy hoppiness rolls in to bring this a moderate dry and bitter finish. Overall, easy drinking but some Sessions can taste and feel more hopped up than this one. I'd call it more balanced.

Pours a murky apricot colored yellow with a thick white head that lasts and leaves generous lacing. Aroma is a weak mix of tropical and citrus fruits. Flavor follows the nose with very little hop bite. Feel is medium to low carbonation. Overall a decent beer for what it is, a session IPA.

I love IPAs, but the higher alcohol content doesn't always like me. So the trend toward "session" IPAs among some craft brewers was perfectly timed for me. I've tried a number of them, and I agree with many reviewers that they are sometimes a bit light in flavor and mouthfeel too. This one is an exception. It's well crafted, with a nice hazy golden color and a rich foamy head that laced nicely. The smell was weak (I was hoping for that IPA hops blast in the nose), but present; and the flavor, while somewhat one-dimensional, was a pleasant blend of fruity hops with a nice malt backbone. The latter surprised me for an IPA, but explained the rich mouthfeel. I'd classify this more of a pale ale, if asked; but regardless, it went down easily, first sip to last. Good thing I liked it because I bought a whole 12 (expanded to 15) pack. ;)

Worth a try. Pours a hazy golden with a slight head. Just another session beer. It tastes like a IPA light like it is. Not enough hops to call it an IPA.
