Amber color; medium, white head. Aroma of malt, fruits, and spices. Sweet caramel taste with spices and light bitterness. Warming finish and aftertaste with a touch of alcohol. Good beer.

Despite the name, this is a murky, light rust color.
Nice off-white head; strong lacing.
Touch o' barleywine in the nose; light caramel, touch of cinnamon. Not what I was expecting so far.
Thick mouthfeel.
This is a US barleywine, & no one can tell me different. Sweet, viscous maltiness with a touch of dark fruits. As a barleywine, it's good not great; way too cloying. Boozy as well.
I'm in no rush to have another.

Not my favorite SA product, but it's right at the above average mark for me at 3.5. Is a heavy, boozy, filling brew that is better suited to the colder parts of the year.

Comes in looking thick, thick white beer along the likes of Imperial Orchid White. Chunky sandwich beer. This is not a slam, in fact, the beer looks quite good for style. Huge, but good. 1/2" white head. Aroma was just everything from mom's spice rack dropped in there, coriander, thyme, cinammon, vanilla, cardamom, clove etc. . .
This goes big on everything for style, sweetness, bitterness, hoppiness (to a lesser degree for sure, but high for a witbier, imperialized or not). The format was nice and affordable for such a big beer. I wouldn't want 22oz of this, but splitting a 12oz beer 2-4 ways gives an appreciation for what they did on this 'extreme' beer style.
