12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a crystal clear pale amber color with a small white head that quickly receded. Not much on the nose, some slight floral hops and not much else. Taste is not much better, hop flavor is really muted and the bitterness is just unpleasant. Light and watery mouthfeel. A rather uninspired IPA offering from BBC.

Reviewing this beer from memory. My eighteenth brew reviewed from these guys. Like most beers from Boston Beer Company, also known as Sam Adams, this is just ok.

Middle of the road, Joe Average IPA. A simple approach to the American IPA. Old school, west cost hops so you get some of that bitterness but it’s not overwhelming. Drinkable for sure. It came in a sampler pack and I’m glad we got to try it, but not itching to get it again.

Bottle. This reminds me a ton of celebration ale. Very hoppy. Piney, resiny, floral, and some bitterness. Bready malts. Ends with sticky hops. Very enjoyable ipa

Refreshing, smooth IPA that tastes great. It’s subtle and not overly hoppy like their New England IPA. Don’t get me wrong I like strong IPA’s, but this beer is really balanced and has the perfect taste.

This is a West coast style that has normal IPA coloring and head. It smells a little maltier than I would expect for an IPA. The taste has a little more hop flavor but I would like more. It doesn't linger long on the tongue either, not dissimilar to the Sam Adams Light. This was part of the Winter Classics, but I wouldn't buy this again. Boston Beer can do better.

Part of a variety 24-pack Costco $26.99
Smell of pine
Clear golden amber-tinged color
Medium carbonation
Medium mouthfeel
Tate of pine, citrus, some bitterness aftertaste
Overall a good beer. Not sure why it is part of the winter pack.

A classic American IPA. Came in a variety pack, that I thought I'd try. Clear ( most likely filtered ) and a long lasting head. Not a great IPA but very drinkable.

Pours a darker translucent gold with a foamy white head that dissipates into a layer over the beer. It smells very floral and somewhat citrusy with tropical hints on the finish. The taste follows the nose but is dominated by the tropical citrus flavors with a slightly bitter piney floral finish. Honestly it taste much better than expected. It's goes down very easily. Overall this one genuinely surprised me and I really like it. Give sammy a try again on this one.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle with a best by date of Feb 2021. Sampled November 27, 2020.
It is a nice looking beer as Sam Adams usually can be. Golden pour withy a bubbling carbonation leading to a long lasting white head. Good clarity.
The aroma is hopped up with fruity esters mainly and a moderate cereal grain profile.
Medium mouthfeel. Smooth and soft.
The taste is at first sweet but the traditional hop bitterness rolls in at the finish and lingers. This is the classic West Coast IPA and not the NEIPA and that is a good thing.

Was a bit wary about this being in the Winter Classics pack but I must say I am pleasantly surprised with this offering.
Very well balanced IPA...very well balanced...it drinks like a super hopped Boston Lager...thats a good thing.
Bright, piney, crisp...
I miss Old Fezziwig in the sampler but I'm not mad at this..
