These Jamaica Plain Brewery original beers from Sam Adams are just unbelievable. This beer is up there on my all time list of favorites now. Vacation Sam is quite literally a Pina Colada beer. This creamy milkshake IPA boasts a bright yellow color resembling pineapple puree it was brewed with. A thin head lingers above the beer. Immediately, aromas of tropical fruit transport you to a beach paradise. I am sitting in my Boston bedroom, but when I drink this and close my eyes, I am somewhere in the Caribbean. Brewed with lactose, you get that creamy/milky smooth taste, as you would from a frozen Pina Colada. The pineapple notes are aided by a slight vanilla note that really helps embody this beer's identity as a Pina Colada beer. A+ from the JP team.
