A solid, nutty, and smooth brown ale exclusive to America’s oldest continuously operated restaurant brewed by Samuel Adams. Worth a pint if you like brown ales for sure.

This really should be under the Boston Beer Company, the Union Oyster House is not a brewer. That said it's very comforting to sit in a 200 year old bar and quaff some grog redolent of long ago. Does that mean it's a good beer? No, it's not a good beer. it's not a terrible beer either. Reminded me of Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale which I enjoyed as a youth so many years ago when there were no craft beers. Malty, caramel and a bit smoky on both the nose and the palate. Played well with my scrod dinner!

Look: Slightly clear nut brown. Slightly more than a finger of off-white head.
Smell: Brown malt with a very tiny hop note.
Taste: Mild brown malt with a slight hop bitterness on the back end.
Mouthfeel: Thick and full-bodied with a large amount of carbonation.
Overall: Drinkable, plain, normal.

On tap at the Union Oyster House with Carm and Vache. Nice brown ale. If you go, get some.
