On nitro tap at the Sam Adams Jamaica Plain Taproom in Boston, MA.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a creamy white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like chocolate, smoke, and roasted malt.
As the style goes, this is pretty much spot on, with a nice creamy chocolate character and a relatively full finish for how low the ABV is. There’s some smoky and roasty bitterness, too.
This is medium bodied, crisp, and with a smooth finish and bite on the back end.
Some of the small batch beers made for the Sam Adams taproom have honestly been real solid.
