A nod to the time-honored Belgian style ale, Flagship American Wit is a refreshing, light bodied wheat beer. Prized hops from America’s Northwest region give this ale a citrusy flavor that blends with the subtle undertones of our hand ground spices. A balancing malt profile contributes a recognizable golden color in addition to a slight haze from the yeast. Whether it’s after a bike ride or a long day of work, we designed this ale for all occasions that require great craft beer.

Decent witbier. Cloudy orange in color. One-finger, white head. The aroma is mostly of yeasts and wheat malt with only a hint of spices. Same notes in taste , moderate sweetness. . Medium body, rather high carbonation.

Pours a mostly clear with a slight haze golden orange color. Carbonation is visible. Moderate head dissipates and yields a creamy film, good retention, and lacing.
In the nose, orange peel emits citrusy and zesty aromas. Sweetness from the malt and wheat. A touch of coriander midway through brings forth herbal aromas.
Moderate sweetness from the malt and wheat fills the mouth with a gummy and slightly doughy texture. Flavors of citrus peel add a zesty tone. Herbal flavors such as coriander and peppery spices add balance. Surprisingly there is a modest but not insignificant herbal hops bitterness in the finish.
Medium bodied and more smooth than crisp. The malt profile adds a doughy, even chewy texture. Gently carbonated and hopper than your typical Wit.
I liked many of the flavors, regardless of adherence to style. I would have perhaps liked a bit more crispness and for the orange peel and coriander to shine through more.

A 330ml bottle picked up in NYC on my recent visit. Pours a hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Aromas of fresh peppery coriander, yeasts & wheat malt with hint of spices. Tastes of coriander, grain, citrus & wheat malts leading to a spicey mildly hopped bitter aftertaste.
