This variant of our Flagship IPA showcases some of our favorite hop varieties enhanced with Blood Orange puree. The combination is extremely juicy with intense but pleasant citrus fruit flavor. Deep orange hues hit the tongue bursting with flavor and balance with a refreshing finish.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color. It poured with a half finger high off white head that gradually died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of blood orange are present in the nose along with underlying notes of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of blood orange with notes of caramel malts. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has a nice balance between the malts and hops as well as the blood orange and the bitterness.

I’m not the biggest fan of this style, but I needed a label from Flagship for my collection and decided to give this a go! Had a hard time picking out the blood orange in this as this was very heavy, bitter, and quite sticky on the palate as it felt more like a West Coast IPA more than anything else.

This poured a coppery, pumpkin orange with a fair amount of haze and darkness in the middle of the liquid, when held up to the light. A ton of thick, bubbly foam topped it off as it was like bread and nearly just as long-lasting. Most of the lacing was along the bottom third of my pint glass in the form of thick, deep rings as the head never fully settled down. Deep citrus pith, leather, and earthy hops filled the subdued nose as the taste strongly followed suit, quite strongly on the palate as well! A bit of blood orange slickness was underneath everything but this was metallic and very bitter as if there was a ton of Cascade or Amarillo in this with dank grapefruit and tangy rind to round things out.

Hard to pick out the malt as the carbonation could have been a bit more present, to give this a more well-rounded presence. Some bread and peat moss rounded this out as the booze was every bit as present as the 6.9% ABV listed on the can. No date was printed on the bottom but this felt fine, for being what it was. Not too crazy about this beer and with so many other IPA's to choose from, this would be good if there wasn't anything else on hand. Just don't forget the water for a chaser!

Deep coppery orange. Decanted, refined and amplified citrus oil aroma. Can't say it's a knockoff of a blood orange because that actually portrays sweeter. This is more general citrus, some floral notes, and a light sweetness.
