A: The beer is very dark amber brown in color. It poured with a half finger high dark beige head that gradually died down, leaving a large, thin patch covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and lot of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts are rye are present in the nose along with notes of spruce.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a light to moderate amount of bitterness. The spicy flavors of rye linger into the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The rye and spruce trips definitely stand out in this IPA, which is also very malty.
