love this beer. not enough spruce beers in the world, i am surprised more arent made here in colorado. this is a very good one, and very very aggressive and assertive with the spruce itself, like shewing on a pine tree, but the brilliance here is in a nice light but hoppy pale ale base beer. its distinct and drinkable that way, without getting real heavy, and the spruce and the hops go so well together. sappy and resinous in nose and flavor and feel, which is authentic and awesome, not an accent flavor there with the pine but a lead agent. they apparently gathered the spruce tips themselves, which is cool, and i find this to be one of those beers that i could drink a dozen of, despite how flavored it is. seems an odd time of year for a beer like this, i tend to associate those with spring and early summer, but its excellent beer nevertheless. this is a style i can never really get enough of. great introduction to this brewery with this one and their plum wild farmhouse, pretty creative and well executed stuff.
