Got two pours on tap at Stoneyard Brewing Company in Brockport, NY.
This one pours a hazy, nearly opaque bright orange, with a half inch tight foamy head, and huge layers of lacing down the glass.
Smells so pungent and nice, tons of bright, juicy citrus, some candied fruit, and some nice herbal grassiness.
This is definitely one of the best local beers I've ever drank around here. It's so pungent, so fresh, and so clean. It's devastatingly hoppy, while remaining miraculously balanced, somehow. It's all about the hops, but the malt shows its face through a bit of candied flavor to the fruit flavors I'm getting- orange and grapefruit, mostly. There's some mild piney bitterness, with some definitive grassiness as well. Beyond the dissection of the specific flavors, it's just delicious. Simple as that.
This has a crisp and juicy mouthfeel, with a moderately carbonated feel to this. The alcohol shows itself slightly, with a bit of boozy bitterness on the back end.
This was outstanding. Bravo, Stoneyard, bravo.
