I had really high hopes for Stoneyard before I got there. I thought that it would be a place that would be more like what I'm used to going to looking for good beers when I'm in specific areas of the country. I have a feeling that they recently moved to a different location recently since I have seen two different addresses from different sources online. However, the location change shouldn't have influenced such a drastic change in clientele in my opinion. Upon my arrival you could hear blaring music coming from inside which was already a turn off for me since I was thinking this would be a brewpub/beer bar, not an open mic karaoke type place. I sat down at the bar which comes off as more of just a local bar vibe, lots of college aged people doing shots and being obnoxious. I looked over the draft list and saw just one beer from Stoneyard on it... with confusion I asked the bartender if there were more beers that they made that aren't on the list to which he replied that they were going through some changes right now getting their brewery expanded and that they only had that one beer on tap along with two collaborations with other breweries. I ordered a porter that they had on that looked hazy as mud water which wasn't all that impressive. I then ordered a beer they had on tap from LIC which was much better but not from Stoneyard. I wanted to leave after finishing the first beer but stuck around for one more round just so I could tick the LIC since it had a solid rating. I cashed out afterward and went back to where I was staying for the night. Overall I kind of hope once they get their brewery back in full swing that things will change for the better. I'd be willing to give them another chance when I'm back in the area someday but if nothing changes by that point I can't imagine ever returning after that.

A very nice brewery with a nice vibe and great food! The selection was good however, they only had 3 house beers on tap as well as 16 house beers. A nice selection of local and non local craft beers I hope in the near future they have more house beers on tap. Their burgers and sandwiches were absolutely delicious. All the beer was good with friendly bartenders and waitresses. A good seating selection upstairs, downstairs, and outside. I will definitely be going back soon!

I must preface this review by stating that I have only been here once, during Rochester Real Beer Week, and during an IPA special event.

We sat outside by the Erie Canal, so the only time I saw inside was to get our initial seats. But even outside and under clouds and the threat of rain, the place was alive. They had Maine Beer Co. Lunch on tap, as well as a ton of other beers. As this was during an IPA event, that was the majority, although they had a very large variety. They also brew their own beer -- I highly recommend their Juicehead DIPA!

I was impressed with this place. I am looking forward to their new location in Webster, grand opening this weekend, July 16!

About a 30 minute drive out from Rochester to this little brewpub along the Erie Canal. There's an upstairs eating area, with a downstairs bar area, where the brewing equipment is located, in an old elevator shaft. The downstairs area is dark and a little divey, in a good way.

They have anywhere from 1-4 Stoneyard beers on at any time, and they're almost always high quality. I'm confident in my assertion that they're the best brewery in Rochester right now. Everything I've had from them has been mighty tasty.

Beyond that, they have about 15 other guest taps, selection is good for the Rochester area, few locals, and the majority is other Northeast beers, with a few West Coasters. Nothing "foreign" that I could tell, all domestic craft.

The food is quite good, the poutine I had is one of the best I've ever tried.

The people are super nice as well, knowledgeable and friendly.
