On tap at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY. I believe this is possibly the toasted almond version, but I'm not 100% sure.
This one pours a dark, glossy black, with a small foamy head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells awesome, rich roasty and slightly ashy coffee, roasted malt, nuts, and chocolate.
This has a really nice coffee flavor to it, rich and pretty roasty and bitter, with some toffee and peanut brittle flavors as well, that may be the almonds. There's a little bit of dark chocolate, and lots of roasted malt. Really very drinkable.
This is slightly thin, but the ABV is low, so it's not a huge deal. It's also slightly overcarbonated, giving it a bit of a bite, but none of this keeps it from being drinkable.
This is one of the few local breweries around here that I specifically seek out, and this is yet another good example of why Stoneyard is so good.
