On tap at Stoneyard Brewing Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a small off-white head that lingers, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like caramel, chocolate, light coffee, vanilla, and lots of dark fruit. Smells pretty great.
The taste is pretty similar- this is delightful, with lots of rich caramel, dark fruits, and more typical chocolate porter flavors, with a hint of roasted malt. It's very drinkable, and fairly decadent.
This is medium bodied, with a pretty creamy and rich mouthfeel, and a normal level of carbonation.
Stoneyard is really good at making lower ABV porters. This one has a richness of flavors that belies the mere 6.8% ABV- it feels like it's richer and higher, in a good way. Awesome stuff as usual.
