On tap at Stoneyard Craft Beer Hall and Grill in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a nice dark brown, nearly black, sort of inky, with a small white head, and not much lacing.
Smells like roasted, slightly smoky malt, silky coffee, and cocoa powder.
This is maybe a tiny bit thin, but still tasty, and richly flavored. There is a wonderful classic chocolate and coffee character to this, slightly sweet, but not overly so. There is a nice roastiness to this, and just a hint of smoke, with a slight hop bitterness on the finish.
This is pretty creamy and silky, but slightly thin. The carbonation level is normal.
This isn't the best dark beer Stoneyard has produced so far, but I still quite enjoyed it.
