Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Billowy foam. Sweet fruity aroma. Tropical fruit body. A little muted. Slight bitter finish with a little sweetness. Could definitely be juicier but not bad.

Stoneyard Brewing Co. "Juicehead"
16 fl. oz. can coded "44678"
$4.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: A rough pour has brought up a massive head of white foam atop a cloudy golden body. The aroma is limited but expresses some orange. The flavor follows suit and I hate to say it but it's like watered down orange juice with some spiciness and bitterness to it. The flavor is thin, as is the body. It's light bodied and gently crisp. A moderate to median bitterness balances it nicely, and it finishes dry with some residual orange and a light bit of grassiness. The malt appears to have some wheat to it, and perhaps oats, but it's otherwise basic. That's good because you don't want the malt distracting from the hops. I'm about halfway through it at this point and it's warmed up but I'm still not getting a lot out of it. There's some additional nectarine, passionfruit, and a hint of melon. So, just let me check, the label does say IPA, right? Yes, the label reads "JUICY NEW ENGLAND STYLE IPA". I wasn't sure because this seems more like a juciy pale ale. It's only 6%, which is fine for an IPA, but not it's not great. It is, on the other hand, refreshing and easy to drink, so there's that.

The beer pours a hazy, muddled golden color with a towering white head that slowly recedes to lacing. It has a solid hop aroma that highlights notes of citrus and spice. The aroma is similar to a citrus juice like orange juice. It has an above average taste. It has a light malt character that provides a solid base, but nothing else. The taste is hop dominated with loads of citrus juice flavor. It's highly drinkable, but the mouthfeel seems a bit thin. Overall, this is a solid offering that provides that "juicy" character that the can promotes. Thanks to my son for providing this beer for sampling.
