16 oz can split with my wife, poured into a snifter. Pours a murky dark brown with a tan head. Nice retention, not much lacing. Aroma feature sweet dark chocolate cake, roasted malts, and coffee with some earthy hops. Flavor is similar but a little too sweet. Mouthfeel is smooth but not as decadent/rich as I was anticipating. Overall it does a solid job delivering on the "ultimate chocolate cake" name, and I'm impressed that they attempted this at 6% abv rather than 9% or 13% or even higher (as some breweries like to do).

Definitely tastes of chocolate cake! Not too sweet, but still a bit sweeter than I'd have preferred - it's got a snack food cake chocolate cake character - the body is a little thinner than I'd have liked - the stout looks like brownish-black glass... I'm enjoying it, but I think it missed the mark for me, without being a bad beer at all... I would've liked a bigger/fluffier feel, with a drier dark cocoa cake character - but that's just me...

Pours very dark. Tan foam. Deep chocolate aroma. Ultimate is right. Dark chocolate cake body. Tastes like a whole chocolate cake put in a blender. Very rich and sweet. If you like cake you'll love this one.

L: Solid brown, almost black, with a faint amber tinge around the edges when the light shines through. There is a short and short lived mocha head that completely disappears.
S: a good quality bakery chocolate frosting
T: the name describes the beer. This tastes like a good bakery chocolate cake. There's bready chocolate cake over a sweet dark chocolate frosting with a hint of vanilla and a day of coffee.
F: no carbonation, smooth and rich with a dark chocolate bitterness at the end
O: this is exactly what it claims to be, a well made chocolate cake. If you're looking for a dessert beer look no further

Smells and tastes just like a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Sweetness to the beer but not too sweet. Body is too thin for a stout. Simply delicious. Will definitely be buying next time this is brewed.
