On tap at Sager Beer Works in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a medium hazy golden orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like berry, lots of pithy grapefruit, malt, and melon.
I don’t think this one is as good as regular Bender – it’s a little too malty, with a little bit of boozy spice on the end, which isn’t great for something that’s “only” 7.6% ABV. It’s still got some nice hop character, though – light bitterness, juicy citrus, melon, and strawberry.
This is light bodied, clean-ish, and relatively crisp, with a decent drinkability.
I wanted to like this more, but I still liked it.
