Bright citrus & clove aromas combine with delicate fruit & spice character from both the classic Belgian yeast & the American White Oak fermentation. Made with our friends at Derive to celebrate our common love for the classic Saison, this beer is downright lovely.

16 ounce can, canned 09/20/22, thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Brewed at Forbidden Root Columbus. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around a while. Good amount of lacing, too. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like oak, peppery spice, grainy malt, and a bit of citrus peel. Taste is similar to the aroma but with more of a kick, and there's also some earthiness, funk and herbal flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and has a good amount of soft carbonation. Maybe a bit too much carbonation for my liking. I thought this was a good enjoyable saison. Certainly worth trying if you come across some!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This unique ale pours a chill hazed dirty blonde
with a very nice head of white foam that settles to a fat ring, thin dusty layer, and shows
off some nice lacing. Nose of faint oak, subtle cracker, faint pepper, and saison yeast
funk....all very muted. Flavors exceed the nose with subtle white pepper, saison yeast
funk, faint tropical fruit hints of pineapple, green tea, cracker, and mellow mild oak
dashed with lemon zest and orange peel. Mouth feel is the star with medium light body,
medium soft carbonation, and thirst quenching finish that is moderately dry and refreshingly
balanced.
Overall, a unique saison
Cheers
