Bought and consumed in Kigali, Rwanda. Poured from the 330mL bottle into a mug. The beer is a cloudy dark red color with a pure white fizzy head that dissipates quickly.
Smell is strawberry and some citrus, not totally unlike a hard strawberry lemonade. Smells kind of more like a soda.
Taste is similar. Strawberry lemonade with a sugary character. Not too syrupy tasting which is a plus. The wheat beer base kind of plays well with the fruit, keeping it somewhat crisp. Still more on the soda side.
Overall, this was refreshing on a warm east African night. A change from some of the typical fare here. Would I seek it out outside of Rwanda? Not likely, but here, it's one of the only (if not the only) example of the style right now.
