This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a semi-hazy bronzed amber color with a quicly dissipating one finger white foamy head that left some stringy lacing. The smell started off with some light ginger, a little bit of allspice and then sweet bready tones slide in to blend nicely. The taste was moderately sweet running the bready tones into the spices. A lingering sweet to semi-spiced aftertaste slides into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a nice sessionability to it. The breadiness shows some nice cling to my tongue with some bitterness to show a tad bit of harshness. Overall, Autumn saison, well, it sure is. Simple Roots did everything they’re supposed to with this one. I’d have again and wouldn’t mind with some grilled seafood or maybe even some beef stew.
