This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy dark brown color with a one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing running here and there in a bubbly sort of way. The smell had a decent sweet maltiness - slight chocolatey and roasty edges with some yeasty tones and a light pepper at the end. The taste was mainly the same - sweet and slightly spiced and leads into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with more of a decent sessionable quality about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but still good for the style. Overall, it’s a nice take on a seasonal saison. Nothing over the top, still it’s solid.

A little bit altbier, a little bit saison. Malty flavors from the former, but that peppery and slight sourness from the latter. Nice amber color, too.

22oz bottle purchased as a single from Winooski Beverage.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1 1/2" beige head over the slightly cloudy orangey amber brew. Head snow-cones above the rim , eventually receding gradually, with sporadic chunky lace. Aroma is lightly tart, with an undercurrent of dusty grain.

Taste starts following the nose, wheat character comes on in the middle, and they meld through the close. Very smooth mouthfeel, and drinkability is pretty easy. Not sure about the tart in there, but whether it belongs there or not, the wheat character works with it. Cheers!
