On tap at the brewery. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark pink almost purple color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipates at a nice pace. Light lace. The aroma starts off with sharp tart berry, leaning to blackberry and red raspberry. Black currants roam in for a nice sweet to tart to tangy backbone. Subtle citrus and then a touch of earth. The flavor brings those flavors together gently. Light spice. A touch of tartness with the black currants helps to assist the citrus in the aftertaste with a quick tart finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation seems fairly low. Tartness isn’t overwhelming but is there. Overall, saison, hmmmm...maybe, but definitely really nice for what it is. Black currants are quite strong in this one. If anything, really nice for a mid-Autumn day, definitely would have again.
