great to see so much new hoppy stuff from these guys in recent months, it was getting a little same old bag of tricks over there for awhile, but i feel like the new ones have been coming in hot lately. this is solid, they always make objectively good beer, and while nothing really sets this apart, i think i like it better than some of the recent hazy ones. nice and clear, a little deeper in color than what is trendy right now, but bronze toned at the darkest, well short of amber or anything, very thick couple inches of white head on this too, looks great. the nose is piney and intense, northwestern, dank seems to fit, as often as that term gets used for hops, it works here, weedy for sure, not sure the varietals, maybe some simcoe in this, got that bitter citrus thing too, centennial maybe, robust as heck but not green or overdone at all. i like the light caramel layer supporting, there is balance to this, and the fermentation is clean and minimal as it should be in this style. the flavor isnt quite as poppy as the nose, a little heavy from the malt especially at temperature, and the oily hop texture adds some perceived weight as well. good hash, spruce, bitter orange and grapefruit, fresh milled lumber, and honey notes round this out, stays on the palate awhile because of its intensity, but its not sweet. i miss this kind of ipa and really enjoyed this, happy these guys are trying some new ones!

Draft at brewery. Clear, dark golden, small head. Light caramel malt aroma, touch of hops. Taste is sweet, toffee before sinking into some hoppy bitterness. Dank? Just a little. More classic NW IPA
