a new one from these guys, always good to see, a hazy double, nice. i like this for a number of reasons, the first is that its pretty well refined, not sludgy and super thick like a lot of them can be, still fuller bodied, but not loaded with sediment. the next is that the hop mix is cool familiar citra and simcoe make it northwestern and kind of dank, but the azacca seems to give it some unique spiciness, and i get mandarin oranges from the can and almost ripe cantaloupe from the el dorado, a little pine intensity too through it, both aroma and flavor. finally, i like that its bitter, many of these are just juice bombs, but this transitions away from that in the second half, where it evolves to have some real hop bite, not green or harsh, but definitely not subtle either, i think it helps this finish, especially because its off dry. relatively clean ferment here, not perfect, but maybe a half step better than some of their past hazy stuff, and well enough carbonated for it to not feel heavy. i couldnt drink a ton of this, but i like the flavor and the texture, best of both worlds, and nice for deep autumn here. well hidden alcohol strength as well. solid new release for these guys!
