This beer has a high bitterness but is balanced with a strong malt backbone using pale and Munich malts.
I used Idaho 7s and Cashmere hops throughout the boil and in a double dry hop to achieve a slightly sweet and fruity hop profile. Notes of apricot, pineapple, and mango. Tropical!
It’s very drinkable for a double. Watch out. :)

cool to see some new ones in cans from these folks, and this is solid and fairly modern despite more of an appreciable malt profile than is truly hot right now for the contemporary west coast type, but its fresh and tasty with the cashmere hops really popping and carried on by a bit of sweetness running through most of the drink, well hidden alcohol strength here too, could be a sneaky one. its not as light looking as it drinks, lightly copper toned with some shine and a decent cap of white froth on the top from the can, not particularly viscous or anything of note visually here really outside of the expected. it smells real fresh, ripe cantaloupe, preserved lemon, lemongrass, and even sauternes from the cashmere, super pleasant and both herbal and fruity at the same time, faint onion and grass from the idaho 7, i am not as high on this varietal right now as everyone else seems to be, but they combine well in this, and i like the little bit of bready european grain in support of these hops, bitterness seems moderate. the flavor is cashmere forward, some toast and sweetness to the malt center which is neat with the dry hoppy character this has, definitely fresh, lemon and zested orange or tangerine, lemon hard candy, grass clippings, wet soil type minerality, clean on the ferment, drier than it starts for sure, decent bitterness on the swallow but this stays real drinkable for what it is, i think the hops are as flavorful as they are aromatic, and while this is by no means a game changer with all the great hoppy beer thats out there, its a serviceable new one from a brewery that needed some fresh flavors. bold but balanced, not boozy even as it warms, im into it.

Half draft at Boise Brewing. Rich golden color with a small foamy white head. Citrusy aroma, zesty, touch of pine at the back. Taste brings some sweet toffee malts, which blend nicely with the citrusy hops. Balanced.
