On tap at the scene of the crime.
Dark brown and bubbly with a thin tan cap. Some spot and web lacing.
Roasted malt aroma, coffee notes. Hops?
Big roast malt flavor. The brewer claims "a smooth hoppy taste" but there's barley enough hop to qualify as a hoppy beer, much less an IPA.
A bit off.
BA lists this as an American Black Ale, the brewer says IPA. It does not meet IPA criteria to me. It falls short...and I'm being kind.
