Cleveland Belgian Citra Rye IPA
Look 9/10
Smell 18/20
Taste 37/40
Feel 9/10
Drinkability 17/20
Overall 90/100
Looks and smells like a world class brew. I expected some sourness, it was bit too much. I bet it ages well. It is conditioned too. (The bottle told me to drink one now and one later) luckily, I have another. As my palate adapts and it warms... It becomes increasingly smooth. Citra stands out, Rye takes a backseat. Love the idea, hope to see it again~

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, orange zest, lemon zest, grapefruit, pear, floral, grass, spicy rye, pepper, clove, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop, malt, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, orange zest, lemon zest, pear, floral, grass, spicy rye, light honey, light pine, pepper, clove, herbal, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, orange zest, lemon zest, pear, floral, grass, spicy rye, light honey, pepper, herbal, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice compexity and balance of hop, malt, and yeast ester flavors; with a moderately crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian rye IPA. All around great complexity and balance of bright hop, malt, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

750ml poured into a tulip
A: Burnt orange with a two-finger head
S: Citrus, coriander & herbs
T: Similar to the nose adding a nice earthiness
M: Medium-bodied, a bit carbonated
O: Agree this has a nice focus on what the grains contribute to the brew, glad I got to try it
