20 oz. pint on cask at the brewery 8/11/24
Loads of apricot kolache and peach pie in the aroma and flavor with a hint of something greenish coming from the hops. A mild hop bitterness builds in the flavor over time. The green thing in the flavor comes off as lime and grass and sweet basil with cilantro or parsley thrown in ... a very generic "green" overall but it seems certainly to be coming from the hops and much greener than a traditional pint of bitter.
Beautiful brew and exactly what I expect from a proper pint. It’s labeled by the brewery as a Yorkish pale ale, which sure. Why not? I tend to think of the English pale ale on cask as covering a family of similar styles and this beer fits perfectly in there. The only minus is a slightly soft mouthfeel, which is to be expected from the style. I've had crisper cask ales, but I've also had much flatter ... I'd put this one at about average to above average.

On cask at MacLeod's. Pours light gold; white head. Bright floral and citrusy aroma. Taste is a bright and floral as well with a light cracker malt. Feel is soft and slightly sparkly. Overall, an exceptional brew not to be passed up.

Big white foam on clear, golden yellow beer poured in the Duvel tulip. Light bodied and elegant, with a flowery, resiny aroma and a touch of lemony magnolia blossom. A subtle, warm, crackery malt taste and just a touch of honey sweetness. The flowery hops provide just enough bitterness to balance the it of malt. Overall, this is so well balanced.
I can't say that this is in any way authentic to the style, but as an American interpretation it's a highly drinkable quaff. I'd like to try it on tap. The bottled version is quite carbonated, but it makes for a pleasant warm evening gulp. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Best Damn Beer Store in San Diego.
