Poured in a generic Canning Jar (can I call it a Mason Jar if it doesn't say Mason????) at the brewery.
Pours DARK DARK DARK inpenetrably so. Sunny day and I can't see through it. Ok by me! light tan head lingers forever.
Roasted malt on the nose. Clean. None of the sort of sour funk the other beers from this brewery had when I tasted them. ....
Leads me to taste... similarly clean. Not remarkable, but pleasant. Dry, roasted, maybe a bit of coffee flavor.
Mouthfeel is marginal, a bit thin. Maybe the giant barrel aged throwdown at Founders yesterday has ruined my pallet for a normal dry stout.
Overall, a serviceable beer. Easy drinking for it's above average ABV.
****note...no growler fills on Thursday....They are still ramping up production.
