From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on November 23, 2014.

It pours just about black with a non-existent head.

The aroma is an appealing combination of sweet roasted dark malts and that hemlock with which they brewed this beer. Piney but not a hoppy pine character.

The body was very thin though and that was a slight disappointment.

The taste is like the with the roasted sweet malts and the hemlock bite moving in and around the flavor. Great taste and great aroma and to some that's all that counts but I like my stouts to be heavier.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle
Dark brown color with an off white head. Bit of lacing
Smell is of a typical well-brewed stout
Taste is a stout with a definite hemlock (?) finish, Never tasted hemlock before-But i like it.
Difficult brew to review due to its uniqueness-BUT I like it and will purchase it again.

Bottle from the source.
Pours a solid dark brown with ruby highlights and a smallish off white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aromas of caramel and light roast with a grassy earthy edge to counter it. The flavor is sweet with creamed coffee flavors and caramel maltiness offset with a pine earthy something that is there but hard to describe. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Interesting brew but I'm not sure if the Hemlock helped or hurt the overall feel of this brew.

Smells sweet, toasty.
Very light body for what I was expecting. Drinkable, definitely not a dessert/end of the night stout. Head dissipates early.

I'm getting some sweet earthy notes off the spruce tips.

Overall, pretty tasty beer from a unique brewery. Worth trying if you find it.
