Close to clear light copper with a decent white head. Nose presents spicy yeast phenols, and some floral hops. Taste shows Belgian dominance but yeast tempered some by mild, if good American citrus and floral hops characteristics. Body is medium and quite nice for a 4% beer with ample carbonation for a prickly sensation.

Not what I look for in a pale ale. No robust hop flavor or profile. Leaves a strange after taste. Not sure if I got a bad offering, or if this is the usual. Judging by the other reviews most likely the latter. These guys may have their work cut out for them.

Caution: Approach with an open mind! This beer will frustrate many American beer drinkers as it will not be what they expected. No hop bomb here. But for the real beer nerd it is a treat! Created in the older British style, think 19th century, this beer has some fruit and malt character but it is the smooth spiciness that really sets it apart. Serve at 55-60 degrees F and allow it a bit of time to breathe in the glass before drinking. A very easy drinking "real ale" style beer, it is easy to see why this is BMB's best selling beer and why it has such a following. I have not found anything like it on the market. Just an all around classic.

From the 650 ml. bottle. 2014 batch. Sampled on September 6, 2014.

Slightly cloudy pale yellow pour with a modest white head that lingers and becomes a ring. Pretty basic.

Light to medium body basically.

Toasted biscuit malts and a clean, crisp hop finish. It is jot a bad pale ale but I might have liked more hops. Generally pretty straight forward.

Bought from Craft Beer Cellar in Nashua (that place is heaven on Earth!) and poured from a bomber into a standard glass.

A- Nice white head, light gold/bronze, some lacing, slightly cloudy (4)

S- Very malty, sweet, overripe bananas, some raisin and slight toffee notes, earthy and herbal hops. I do get phenols as well. Unique indeed. (3.75)

T- I get sweet malts, a very metallic note, and some bitterness from the hops. This brew is rather one-note. (2)

M- The mouth is about as run-of-the-mill for a pale ale (3).

O- This is a new brewery out of my home state of NH and clearly they have some bugs to work out. It's a shame because I was looking forward to trying this one and I am a huge pale ale fan. I think I will have to try these guys in about six months or so, once they get the kinks worked out!

Bottle from the brewery
Pours a hazy light golden color with a smallish white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of earthy hops a bit of lemon and yeasty phenols. This smells more like a wit than a pale ale. The flavor is earthy yeasty and phenolic. Again more Belgiany than pale ale ish. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation. This beer is actually quite drinkable, but some wild yeast have gotten into here and changed this brew.
