Graf is a hybrid beer where apple juice or cider was blended with the wort.
Pours clear and sparkling, amber/cider (SRM 6-7). A tall, puffy head reaches two inches. After a long while, the head falls to one-quarter inch, leaving a webbing of sticky lace.
The aroma has a floral opening, followed by pear. Overall, it is sweet with light earthiness and a light soapiness.
The flavor has a mild to light sweetness. Initially apple pie is obvious with honey and coriander. Light ginger builds with warmth to ultimately be quite present. In general, this has a flavor reminiscent of Reisling Wine. The modest finish seemingly never dissipates.
A thin body with scratchy nylon texture. The carbonation is fizzy and the alcohol is about as expected. This beer is generally dry.
Tretar Apple Pie Graf is an interesting and easy-drinking hybrid. It is a nice occasional beer and would work well as a cocktail. One could easily mistake this for a Cider.
