12oz pour on tap huge small bubbled creamy white head. Body is a slightly dark amber orange with a little Haze.
S: cantaloupe, mangoes, papaya, honey, a little tangerine on the end.
T: Lots of mango, pineapple, cantaloupe, light bitterness, honey. Cantaloupe, slight alcohol.
M: Medium body nice carbonation a little cling on the tongue.
O: This is a nice fruit bomb DIPA if you see this on tap grab it. A little too much alcohol on the finish though.

Treading on the earhty side of hops, Marz brewers align themselves with all things vegetal, exotic fruit, botanical and dank. With a firm malt backbone, their imperial IPA balances on the herbal side of bitterness.
Over-ripened tropical and citrus fruit flood the nose along with muddled grassiness, pungent ribes and a potpourri of floral fragrances with the earthiness of wet hemp. Honey amber with with a darker haze, the beer crowns with a creamy off-white cap with verbose carbonation. Sweet to taste, a toasted granola nuttiness comes with a medium level of caramel and honey.
The hop radiance on the middle palate pops with red grapefruit, pineapple, peach, red apple and mango- all seemingly of the slightly bruised variety. Juicy and caramelized, the fruits trend leafy, stemmy and woodsy as the bitterness grows and a green taste of verbena, damp grass clippings and an overall soil character. Bitterness is sharp and grassy with a taste of lemon peel and pine sap leading the way.
Malty-dry and medium-bodied, the beer's carbonation combats its viscosity and facilitates hop dryness to keep the bold beer somewhat refreshing and drinkable despite its relatively hight strength. A long aftertaste of sprucy bitterness and fruit skins outlast the malt and extends well into the next sip.

Kegged summer 2015; drank 7/15/15 @ Fischman's.
Opaque dark orange appearance.
Small off-white head; minimal lace.
Caramel & grapefruit notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Caramel flavor up front; faint hop bite on the finish. Booze heat emerged as this warmed.
A simple, boring American barleywine to these taste buds....forgettable

Pint bottle served in a shaker pint. Batch #242. Can't easily find any info about when that was bottled.
Pours a hazy amber with little head and not a lot of carbonation. Smell is lemon and old hops.
Taste is lemon and old hops with a fierce bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is moderately thick and kind of sticky. Overall...I bet it's old. But, I'm reviewing it anyway because there was no way for me to know before buying it.

Pours dark, dark orange, almost brown. Lacing for days. So much lacing. All of the lacing. Obviously unfiltered, and very cloudy. Beautiful.
Nose has a good balance of earthy citrus, pine, and floral characteristics. Nothing stands out, in a good way. I think this is primarily hopped with Mosaic.
Tastes like earthy citrus rind with blackberry, but again, is really well balanced. The pine comes out a little more than on the nose when child, and fades towards the citrus/blackberry as it warms.
Finishes a little dry and a little more bitter than I usually like, but still really well balanced. The 9% alcohol is really well hidden.
Good overall and a really well balanced DIPA, but considering the price for this pint, I expected something better.

Pours a murky, dark orange color with a finger of off-white head. Like the unfiltered look.
Smells of floral, grapefruit, berry, melon, pine, bit of dank, slight tropical vibe, faint carmel sweetness and bread from the malt.
Taste is nicely balanced, yet hop-forward. The hop flavors do get a bit muddled, but I can still detect blueberry, grapefruit, and dank throughout. Has a good malt backbone that brings some carmel sweetness and breadiness, yet the hops still shine. Finish brings in a good amount of pine resin and grapefruit peel bitterness to go along with what's already there. Alcohol is hidden well.
Mouthfeel is a high medium body. Nicely crisp, but also creamy. Finishes oily and sticky.
This is a great first DIPA from Marz. I could tell that they know their hops by their previous offerings and this solidifies that.

Slightly hazy dark amber in color. Small head that nevertheless persists as a thin cap for most of the session.
Leaves thin ribbons of lace on the glass. Strong scents of bready yeast on the nose. I found the hop flavors to be a little muted for a DIPA but they are complemented nicely by grapefruit and other citrus rind. Medium-full bodied and pleasantly slightly creamy mouthfeel. A good but not great DIPA from Marz.
