Poured at the brew house into a high gravity glass. Russet liquid with a caramel-colored foam that subsided into a quarter inch layer.
Smells faintly of mouldering hay, pith, dry red table wine.
Taste is lightly tart with elements of unflavored yogurt, honey, hay, flowery and tannic.
Body is firm with average carbonation. ABV is noticeable.
Overall it’s three main elements are a sweetness, tart and the unmistakable red wine aging. The sweetness gets slightly cloying against the red wine and ABV. Yet it’s satisfying. Decent beer I’d drink again.
