Black bodied topped by a creamy tan head that comes to rest as a bubbly collar. Spicy eggnog-ish aroma improves as it warms...moderate nutmeg and a little sugary vanilla. More coffee in the flavor, but it stays fairly quiet blending with roasted malt, nutmeg, and a light vanilla sweetness that is tempered by some char in the finish. Creamy, slick medium body. Very drinkable, as are all the Java- beers thus far.

Had at the brewery over the weekend.Came in a snifter jet black in color with a creamy thick beige head atop.Big vanilla and chocolate aromas, some coffee is there but plays a bigger role on the palate.Coffee and vanilla flavors with underlying chocolate, not overly roasted.A thick creamy feel is fitting for the beer.Another top notch beer from Haw River....and it's not Belgian inspired!
