Very dark brown color. No head. Starts very sweet, but then ends with an extremely bitter coffee note. Lacks structure, seems weakly bodied for the style.

Dark, black, thick beer with a quickly fading tan head that leaves nothing behind. Smells like a creamy, iced coffee with a hint of coconut. Sweet and full of coffee. The coconut and vanilla appear in the taste way more than the nose. Very tasty beer.

@ Haw River

Black body topped with a thick layer of tan creaminess. Smooth coffee and a fairly subtle coconut sweetness in the nose...pretty bright with a deep coffee bean roast. Flavor is heavier on the coconut blending with a chocolaty malt profile that makes me think of a Mounds bar. Chocolate covered espresso beans and a coconut sweetness. Smooth medium body - light and dry enough to be almost refreshing in nature. Delicious - all of Haw River's Java- stouts are worth trying.
