Poured into a snifter with 1-2 fingers of head that dissipates to a fluffy foam at the edge of the glass. This is a deep golden unfiltered ale. When cold, the nose smells sharply of lime with just a faint vegetal hint, reminiscent of a margarita. Smooth mouthfeel, cool cucumber starts coming through and is finished by the lime. The basil is unfortunately fully masked on the nose and the palate when cold, but starts to show faintly as the beer warms. I'd love to see this remade with just the cucumber and basil to see how it would turn out. Overall this would be great to pair with a summer salad or light pasta or fish dish. An afternoon picnic beer if ever there was one.
