Received a can from a friend that worked a beer festival and passed along a can 12-2-22. No canning date; consumed 5-28-23.
Beer poured amber orange with a very nice white head.
Nose is nice, getting some toasted malt sweetness, a touch of barnyard and sourness.
Taste hits the style nicely as a toasted sweet malt greets the palate. Getting some yeast play with a touch of horse blanket intermixed with the sweet notes from the fennel. Finishes with a touch of pucker and sweetness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very smooth.
Overall a really well-done beer, hits the style nicely and the fennel and yeast play is a nice twist!
