12oz can. No dating information found.
Clear, brown colored body. Beige colored head retreats to a partial cap and ring. Leaves behind partial rings of lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts. Smells of chocolate and a touch of anise.
Taste is roasted malts, with flavors of chocolate, bitter coffee, and a little black licorice.
Less than medium mouth feel. Slight tongue numbness but no burn. Okay carbonation. Dry finish.
Has some sweetness, has some bitterness.

Poured from a can. Brown in color with a tan head. Smells of molasses, roasted grain, malt and nuts. Flavor follows the smell and I get a smokey flavor in the end. Very good.

From a 12 ounce can, no freshness indication to be had.

Pours out near a coco cola shade of dark brown, supports a long lasting 1/2 inch cap.

Dark chocolate on the sniff.

More dark malts, light roast and again chocolate on the palate…decent brown Ale.

Poured from a 12oz can into a nonic pint glass. Dark amber brown with an appreciable khaki-colored head that retreats to a ring at the edges of the glass. Taste is offensively bitter at first but mellows out as it sits. Sweet, toasty, and roasted grain notes are more noticeable after a few sips. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth. Bitterness is a bit over the top and develops an aftertaste in the mouth afterward.
Good beer, but over-hopped.

Dark brown with one finger tan head. Chocolatey and nutty with some banana and a little toast and floral hops. Flavor has a good malty base of dark toastiness. On the sweet side with a noticeable bitterness, but I'd prefer it just a bit drier.

Pours dark, translucent brown with a finger of khaki foam. Head retention is good, with a layer of foamy film lingering a long while. Aroma is toasty, nutty, bready, earthy malts with a hint of spicy, herbal hops. Nice cleanliness to it despite the spicy, herbal hop notes sticking for an extra second. Flavor profile is toasty, biscuity, bready, pale, nutty malts with spicy, herbal, lightly floral hop notes. Malts lead the charge with spicy, herbal hop notes lingering a while after. Despite the lengthy list of notes, it tastes simple and condensed. Mouth feel is medium-thin with a still, smooth texture. Overall, a fair brown ale. Pretty mild, even for a brown ale, but that makes it extremely approachable.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz can.
