Hoppen-Daz Mango Milkshake IPA has a hazy look and creamy mouth-feel. The tropical aroma from the hops and the sweet additions of mango round out the flavor. We added lactose and mango puree, bringing it in at 6% ABV.

Hazy, golden color. Subtle milky sweetness from the lactose, but not overly sweet or creamy like I expected. Very tropical, and the bitterness you'd expect from an IPA.

12 ounce can, no dating/freshness indications to be had.
Medium haze, lasting off white froth. A more then moderate amount of floating sediment pours into the glass…
Melon and yes mango on the sniff.
Pleasing and flavored with moderate sweet tropical fruit notes. Mango, melon, grapes. Decent but lacks the smooth mouthfeel and thickness of a “milkshake IPA”, so not up to the heavy hitting takes on this style….but worth a try….fo sho…

Pours a slightly hazed gold with 3+ fingers ( vigorous pour ) of bubbly pearl colored head. Floaties, very good head retention & lacing
S: Some mango notes
T: Mango, tangerine, flinty dryness and some leafy hops as well up front. A little mango, plenty of dryness & leafy hops as this warms, plus a little apricot. Finishes with leafy bitterness & tangerine, plus apricot & dryness
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, pretty good balance
No born on date, so this is what is. I was expecting more creamyness & mango sweetness, drinks alright, but doesn't really deliver on the promised flavor

12 oz can, unknown date, purchased at Macadoodles in Springfield, MO.
Has a hazy, not creamy or juicy, dark amber color with a creamy head of 1 finger. Not particularly a milkshake, IMO.
Aroma is faint but I get a little bit of spoilage from the can, with some hints of grapefruit, mango, dreamsickle, and orange.
Flavor definitely brings the vanilla/creamsickle thing, but also the popsickle stick haha. A bit balsa-woodsish. Heavy lemon peel and grapefruit peel behind that, with lingering notes of bitter mango and grass.
Feel is like a blonde ale, not really anything spectacular. Maybe a touch of juice, but it's not creamy, nor does it attempt to nail the New England style.
Overall a shabby IPA that could use some work. Looking back it looks like I wasn't a fan of anything Bur Oak, and I forgot I even reviewed anything from them and was hoping to knock out a new brewery. Another mediocre beer from a relatively mediocre brewery. Nothing to see here, move along.

This one is the Mochacccino Milkshake Porter Hoppendaz. From a can, it is a black, thick, dense liquid. The head is off-white and lacy, while the aroma as is sweet and creamy. Thick, full, and flavorful.

Orangish is color with a white head and decent lacing. Smells of mango and other citrus. Milkshake was making me doubt this beer but it is a good mango ipa that just seemed to be slightly creamy and smoother than a regular ipa.

Tried it on tap during a special event. The basics seem like your standard IPA. What makes it stand out is that it rounds off the bitterness that ruins many IPAs to my pallet. Normally they are far too hoppy with little wheat or yeast taste to bring it down. In this case you taste the citrus flavor to the hops and pick up on a slight wheat and yeast flavor, but the citrust is the overwhelming flavor without excessive bitterness. Grapefruit is the primary taste, and it overall is smooth and almost as refreshing as a lager. Highly recommended.

On tap. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It smelled of mango, vanilla, citrus and sweet caramel. Nice mango taste with a creamy finish.
