Poured from 12 oz can into a shaker glass. It is cloudy and golden honey in color. Very little head or lacing. But it’s fragrant with sweet malt, grains, and a whiff of lemon zest. The taste is similar to the original Old 63 insofar as there is a strong base of sweet brown bread but it is far more balanced by hoppy bitterness and burnt grain. At 8% ABV it’s more substantial than its little brother. It is more full-bodied and offers a lot more depth of flavor. I prefer High Octane to the original Old 63.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of grains, caramel, hay and fresh cut grasses. Sweet toasted caramel and toffee with a decent bitter bite. Crisp, sharp and smooth finishing.
