Carolina beer company let me down. There ESB is an average beer. The appearance was nice, especially next to the others in the sampler I got. All the colors of the beer rainbow. I did enjoy this beer more than their IPA. There was some malt character in the taste, it was not undrinkable. Definetly a C.

On tap at the brewpub at CLT. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a medium off-white head that recedes without a trace. Smells of English malts, with the typical sweet caramel character. Faint floral hop notes. Mild taste, with light, slightly toasty sweetness and noticeable hop bitterness. Sweet finish. Light-medium body with high carbonation seems wrong for an ESB. Not great by any means, but not bad for airport fare.
