I have recently returned from prostatectomy surgery & I have restricted my solid diet to FF&V (fresh fruit & vegetables) in the hopes of aiding the healing process. A friend of mine dropped off a big goodie bag full of FF&V ISO my efforts, including some nice, ripe peaches! One of them will act as an acCANpaniment to this beer in furtherance of The CANQuest (tm).

From the CAN: "This beer is dedicated to the hope that impeachment comes swiftly. We have made this beer as sour as the man himself and loaded it with New Zealand Golden Queen Peaches. Peaches, you ask? Well, what else would be in an impeachment ale?"; "Behemoth was born out of a hobby which quickly turned into an obsession, then into a life dedicated to good beer. Life is too short to take seriously, so the only thing we take seriously is bigger tasting beer. Beer consumes us and, in turn, we consume it right back."; "Cheers, Andrew Childs Beer Giraffe".

I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. Before long, I had seCANd thoughts about this course of action since a) it was not really leading to any kind of clarity & b) there might be lees & adjunct fruits that should be in suspension. For those reasons, I stepped up my game & went more heavy-handed, feeling relieved as the CANtents emptied into my glass. It foamed up nicely to form two fingers of puffy, foamy, fizzy bone-white head with modest retention. Color was a cloudy Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9). Nose was less sour than tart, but it was definitely peachy! Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, just over the line from watery. The taste was very tart, not sour, with a taste of peach preserves as its main focus! Yum. It was fruity & funky in a palatable way, which is just the way that I like 'em. I really like peaches & I was impressed with the way that they were still allowed to shine in this beer. Finish was tart & dry, not unexpectedly. Very nice, albeit a bit spendy. YMMV.

14.5oz can at Sycamore Restaurant. Poured out a cloudy, pale gold color with a good-sized head of foam. It smelled of peaches, lemon and some caramel. It tasted of peach, sourness and some toasted caramel.
