Pretty nice deep brown-black to amber with one finger tight, frothy mocha head. Decent retention and nice lacing.

Coffee dark malts, chocolate shake and slight dank hop

Milk and dark chocolate, Exotic bitter hop flavor. Grainy bread and biscuit

Good carbonation, fizzy while pretty full and a mellow creaminess. Nice bittering as well.

Very solid and does everything it wants to in my opinion. Love the hoppiness and milk chocolate shake combination.

A more classical approach to the chocolate stout, feel like I am back in 2011. Medium to light black opaque bod, light brown foam. Smell is bland in the maltwork, but get cocoa nibs and dutch processed cocoa, so 2 of the 3 promised. Taste I get all 3, malts actually are the strongest of the group, dry complexion of the chocolate though. Feel is dry and light though extremely malty, easy drinking, classical.

It is becoming official - the aftermath of NBS (Week 746) is out of CANtrol! I had set so many Stouts aside in favor of highly hopped AIPAs & the like that I did not realize the depth & scope of the backlog. I am now fully engaged in the furtherance of The CANQuest (tm) through the eradication of Stouts! This is getting interesting.

From the CAN: "This beer is an ode to chocolate. For once, I was lost for words while describing it. But, after it won Peoples Choice at Beervana 2016, plenty of people helped me describe it. Here we go: Chocolate Goodness. Pudding in a glass. Just like a chocolate milkshake only beery. Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate. Much Chocolate Wow!, Chocolate as F*%k. Like drinking melted chocolate from a glass."; "We don't think we are going to have to hire security guards for the beer fridge at your local store, like a famous chocolate milk, but if you like chocolate[,] you should probably take this one home. Have it after dinner. We don't want to ruin your appetite."; "mmmmmm chocolate"; "Behemoth was born out of a hobby which quickly turned into an obsession, then into a life dedicated to good beer. Life is too short to take seriously, so the only thing we take seriously is bigger tasting beer. Beer consumes us and, in turn, we consume it right back."; "Cheers, Andrew Childs Beer Giraffe".

I did a Kiwi Crack! & for my next trick, I allowed it to simply run unabated into the awaiting glass where it quickly began a pseudo-cascade. I let it do its thing, which paid off in terms of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with excellent retention. Color was Very Dark Brown to Black/Opaque (SRM = > 34, < 44) with garnet highlights. Nose smelled like a liquefied Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar! OMFG. I may need a hophead break after this one. I kid you not, it smelled so chocolaty that I beCAN to despair that I might go into diabetic shock while drinking it. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was extremely rich & chocolaty, much as the Head Giraffe had mentioned. It was somewhere between Nestle's Quik chocolate milk and Grummy ChANdler's annual birthday cake for me - chocolate cake with chocolate frosting! Wave after wave of sweet chocolate coming ashore. Man, this would be great if I liked sweet stuff. Finish remained sweet & chocolaty. I looked at it as a dessert beer or a novelty, but it was not the kind of beer that I would want on a steady basis. YMMV.

14.88oz can, stamped 16/OCT/18. Dark brown body with a foamy light brown head that fades to a thin layer of foam. Big chocolate aroma with a bigger chocolate flavor; nutty grain, yeast, oats, lactose, and vanilla round out some complexity - but it's all chocolate, and I'd agree with the chocolate pudding description on the label. Full body, sweet yet balanced, nice carbonation. Really good chocolate stout! A little pricy, but still good.

I poured the beer from a can into a glass. It is dark. Opaque. There is a cream colored head. A little bit of the head lingered.

I can't smell anything, but that might be my weak sense of smell.

The taste is great. The chocolate comes through nicely.

So much chocolate in both flavor and aroma. As authentic as it gets. Thinner mouthfeel but very easy to drink. Soft carbonation. Very well done beer!!!
