Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is hazy gold, head is off/brighter white and presents less than one finger thick, head dissipates quickly to nothing, no lacing.
Smell is off hop aroma or just aged hops - hard to describe but maybe vegetal with notes of citrus pith and herbs behind, some biscuit like malt.
Taste is similar with that off/aged hop flavor, then some citrus pith and herbal qualities; off flavor is something from homebrewing but i cant define.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, lower bitterness.
Overall a brew that has been can to can in variability with thethis can showing more prominent off flavors.

Pours a pilot orange. Thick foam. Citrus hop aroma. Slightly sweet and earthy body. Mild bitter finish that lingers. A little spicy. Good but different than I expected.

Picked this up recently at the ShopRite in Little Falls, as I've never had anything from Rare Form before. This was a typical IPA that checked off all the proverbial boxes but didn't break any ground with me, as it was relatively easy to drink, balanced, and had the alcohol recessed enough that as to not come across as being an Imperial IPA.
Not surprisingly, this had a muted, golden hue to it with a fluffy head that came across as somewhat excessive. That settled quietly as there were gorgeous rings of lacing left behind from the top fifth of my pint glass, all the way down as each layer beautifully bled down to the next as the majority of my glass was covered in extensive suds! Had there not been any dark sediment at the bottom of this, it would have been one of the best appearances I've seen a beer make in quite some time. Interesting aroma as there were hints of tangerine along with darker and heavier citrus, some tropical fruit, dank hops, and some turbid pine as all of those were in the taste to a slightly greater extent. Slick, oily, and softly carbonated, the burn wasn't here with the exception of a bit in the aftertaste as that complemented the outdoorsy impression that this left me with once the liquid was done.
There's booze here and yes, I warmed up a bit while drinking this although it never felt contrived or excessive. Canned on 9/15, I wish this held up a bit better but it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference. Hopheads won't mind swigging a can of this down but the subtly and spicy bready malt combined with the average range of flavors would come across as typical for too many serious imbibers. Worth a go once to kick back without having to think too much...

On tap at Captain Jack's Goodtime Tavern in Sodus Point, NY.
This one pours an extremely hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange juice/mimosa, tangerine, and some pine.
This is incredibly smooth with very little bite - I'd want a bit more bitterness here - there's a little bit But that smooth fluffy citrusy orange/tangerine/grapefruity thing works well.
This is smooth and creamy, with no booziness and very little bitterness. It's pretty drinkable.
This isn't exactly my favorite take on an IPA these days - I don't mind the haze, but I do want some clean bitterness. Despite that, I did enjoy this, and it is well-done.
