Sampled on tap at Ryogoku Beer Station. The waitress called this their "black beer". The web site describes it as in the Czechoslovakian and Prague style with bottom fermentation.
This dark lager poured a clear, dark brown (almost opague) color with tall, creamy, light brown foam that settled and clung to the glass and left lace. The smell was mild: malt, hint of chocolate. The taste was a bit thin, but included chocolate and caramel malts. The taste was neither too sweet nor too bitter. The mouthfeel was smooth, with medium body and moderate carbonation. There was a lingering dry, chocolate malt aftertaste. This was a pretty good dark lager.
