Appearance: Pours dark as night with a thin beige head; a few strands of lace
Smell: Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate with a hint of brown sugar
Taste: Roast and chocolate forward with a burst of coffee; the beer grows sweeter, through the middle, with brown sugar and molasses tones; balanced in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: Even with over a year in the bottle the coffee still shines here

22oz bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger creamy dark brown head that reduces to a ring around the edge
S- bold herbal and earthy coffee up front mixes with aromas of dark chocolate, mocha cream, vanilla & toffee. Plenty of barrel notes to compliment; wet oak & bourbon
T- rich and bold coffee up front gives off intense herbal notes, followed by dark chocolate mocha, vanilla cream, caramel/toffee, molasses, figs, black cherry and a bit of char. Mid-Palate brings out some barrel notes that gives plenty of juice and oak. The finish brings out more herbal coffee and lingers of bourbon
M- medium-light body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a warming finish
O- really love this particular coffee and the barrel presence is just enough to match it

Matte black with a three fingers thick lumpy tan foam.
Smell is roasty nut, sharp coffee and hot, spicy bourbon with black pepper.
Taste is spicy bourbon, chocolate, nuts, cola and red berry with a thin body and a real serious burn that goes all the way down after the semi-dry finish.
We did a 3rd Anniversary horizontal, and needless to say, the "DRINK FRESH!" was not adhered to by my fellow bottle-sharers. As such this probably suffered for it, but nonetheless, it was decent.

Dark black body, one finger offwhite head, short retention, no lacing. Roasty coffee, lactose, milk chocolate, cocoa, touch of dark fruit, chocolate malt, slight whiskey burn. Solid but slightly thin body, good flavour and depth, appropriate carbonation. Just about what I expected from Cycle.

Black, viscous as hell, small tan head, and nice spotty lacing. Huge coffee and dark fruit aromas. Notes of rich coffee, chocolate, black cherry, fig jam, toffee and caramel. Thick, creamy, full and rich feel. What an amazing coffee stout.

Overall, really enjoyed this beer but did not think it was the best in the series. The coffee made this beer a touch too bitter for my preferences but I still enjoyed it!

gregh, my man...hooking up that cycle set in duplicate...love you!!!
this is the third one I've tried in the set and hot dog...love it! I really don't get why this set doesn't get the love. not as thick as some other cycle stouts but that flavor...oh yes. little thin, but still solid.
